Over the years, Schwinn has been one of the most popular bicycle options out there. In fact, they first opened their doors back in 1895 when we didn’t even have paved roads across the country. However, they continue to produce high quality bicycles for all ages. Whether it’s mountain bikes, racing, or just for fun, they know how to give the consumers exactly what they need. One of the best choices around today is the Schwinn Meridian. It offers everything from
comfortability, sleek designs, and enjoyment for hours on end. You can also find other options like the Sting-Ray, the Rocket, and even the Fastback road bike.
In fact, if you really want to get down to it the Schwinn Meridian is the best adult tricycle in circulation. It offers 3 wheels and a complete step-through design frame. They are also made from aluminum, which allows an easier way to maneuver around. Individuals who have lower back, knee, or even hip issues will enjoy the feel of riding behind a Schwinn Meridian. It allows you to ride for hours and enjoy the smooth feel on the pavement. A lot of it has to do with the rims and stainless steel spokes that bring forth additional stability to each tire. In the end they will have a longer life. There is also a folding basket on the back you can use for picnics or put a few waters or other beverages in there for the ride. The only issue with the bike is that it’s somewhat bulky, which means storing it could be a little difficult.
When it comes to reviews there are plenty of them available for the Schwinn Meridian Bike. The majority of them are extremely positive and talk heavily about the personal mobility. One woman even talked about her husband getting stronger as a result. While this seems like common sense since you’re exercising, the amazement behind her story is that her husband is 76 years old. He also felt more confident and comfortable, even though has balance issues. On the negative side of things most of the reviews talk about issues with the product being damaged when delivered to the home. What it comes down to is there is a problem with the shipping company and not the actual product.
For those of us who put our bikes away for the winter, the time has come to dust them off and get ready to ride. When bringing a bike out of storage, a mini tune-up is necessary. Pay special attention to the following four areas: chain, derailleur components, brakes, and wheels.
~~Chain~~
If you have been using an oil-based lubricant, consider switching to a wax-based product. The only advantage to an oil-based lubricant is that it needs to be applied less frequently, but in every other way, wax-based is superior. For instance, oil collects trail dust and other things abrasive to the chain, whereas wax sheds abrasives. A recommended wax-based lube is White Lightning.
~~Derailleur Components~~
Lubricate the pivot points using a good petroleum-based lube. I use Tri-Flow. Next, lubricate and adjust the derailleur cables, which might have stretched over the winter. Adjust so that shifting is crisp.
~~Brakes~~
Again, lubricate the cables. Use either petroleum- or wax-based lube depending on how dusty the expected typical riding conditions will be. Adjust the cables, which might also have stretched over the winter.
~~Wheels~~
Spin the wheel slowly checking for true. The wheel should not wobble at all. If it wobbles a little bit and you have the tools and skill, you can make minor adjustments using a spoke wrench. But if there is substantial wobbling, take the wheel to a shop and have a professional true the wheel.
Here is a preview of what I consider to be some of the best players on the Olympic Basketball Team for the United States going into the Beijing Summer Olympics. Also, this article is focused on basketball cards of the players. Chris Paul is an energy player and can be counted on to consistently play with a high level of enthusiasm and energy. Chris Bosh is also going to be counted on to spark the team. Mentioning the Olympic basketball team without Kobe Bryant would be incomplete. Dwayne Wade is another top competitor on the team. More of the players will be mentioned in another article, make sure to bookmark our main site page and check for future articles in our forum accessible through there.
Chris Paul is going to contribute well to the U.S. team. He is one of the best young players in the game and started playing professional basketball in 2005-06. He has quickly developed into a top 15 player (if not better) in the league and has helped lead the New Orleans Hornets into the playoffs. Chris Bosh is a talented member of the U.S. Basketball Summer Olympics 2008 Team that is headed to Beijing, China for the olympic games. He was a rookie in 2003-04 and has evolved into quite a player. He will serve in a backup capacity as he is not as experienced as the senior members of the team. Look for him to provide frontcourt support and to be an intimidating presence in the low post both on the offensive and defensive sides of the court. His basketball cards are highly sought after. His rookie card from 2003-04 Topps Chrome is very affordable, and his autographed and game worn jersey cards are not that much more expensive. He has proven his ability to succeed in the NBA, and his card values stand to gain if he can continue to get better and better.
Kobe Bryant is a leading member of the United States Olympic Basketball Team heading into the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. He will be counted on for scoring, leadership and overall poise. His rookie year was in 1996-97. He is a favorite among collectors. As a rookie, he came in and slowly established himself as a great player. He has continued that and is now one of the top NBA players who, along with Shaquille O’Neal lead the Los Angeles Lakers to more than one NBA Championship with Phil Jackson as the coach. During the Olympics, look for Kobe Bryant to be among the leaders in scoring and to provide some lessons in maturity to some of the younger players. It is great for the team to have a player that has played for so many years yet that is still at the top of his game. Listed below are some relevant posts on this thread for Kobe Bryant rookie cards and for a picture of a Kobe Bryant basketball card.
Why run a marathon? This is the question most of the people I know asked me, when I first announced I wanted to run one. Having completed (only just) a half marathon at the age of 18.Since then I have had a very on-off relationship with running, more off then on. Briefly taking it up in an attempt to get fit and/or lose weight.Three years ago, a friend and colleague Ronan and I managed to talk each other into entering the London 10K Bupa Featbeat (as it was known then), and we even started to train together during work lunchtimes and then individually over the weekend.
We embarked upon an 8 week fairly easy training schedule, and we both wanted to complete the race in under an hour. The first couple of weeks of training were pretty hard as I had not done any kind of running for a number of years, but I was soon running solid for 30 minutes. We gently built this up to 45 minutes and then 2 weeks before the race managed to run or or less 10K to give the confidence. On race day, despite Ronan being somewhat fitter than me, we ran together and finished it in 56:30 and were both pleased as we had achieved our goal (I am still convinced Ronan could have ran it quicker, if he had gone at his own pace). After that we both entered the Windsor Half Marathon, which Ronan carried on training for, but I unfortunately seemed to just lose motivation.
